Work and play on the cheap

It’s always nice to go out to a show and see some comedy acts. There are a lot in the major cities and the small clubs can make for some pretty cheap entertainment. Not to say the price is anything to do with the quality. There were some big stars that started out in comedy clubs. You never know who you may get to see in them that will soon be famous.
Music festivals can have some great entertainers too and if you are really lucky you can often get some temporary and contract jobs that have social activities thrown in. These type of jobs are more geared to out of towners or newbies to the city.
Types of jobs with entertainment perks thrown in that I have seen advertised include paintballing staff, retail workers and even teaching assistant jobs. I suppose those new teachers coming all the way from Australia and the like need some outlets and where to go in the big cities once they get here. It certainly can add to team cohesiveness on the job when you hang out together socially too. Advantages and motivations for the companies (that do this for employees) is probably to build loyalty to them because they make working for them that little bit more fun.
If you are into festivals there are loads coming up this time of year. If you are willing to travel you will be spoilt for choice. Just this month there are festivals with names such as froggy, oxford, honeyfest and hit the deck to name a few. For a whole calendar worth check out this site: http://www.thefestivalcalendar.co.uk/
